Medical books are often very expensive and since specialty stores in Budapest usually don't have enough money to stock a large amount of books, students are often told to order their books. This may take as much as five 1-2 months.
If you are a first year student, then the chance of getting all the books you need here in Budapest are fairly slim. Most of the books you need, such as anatomy, chemistry and biology, are all available. But, unless the bookstores know that they will be able to sell the books right away, they are reluctant to stock books for immunology and other subjects where students don't all "buy the same book".
So, my opinion is:
If you are in the first or second year, you should be able to find most of the important books here. If you are in the third, fourth or fifth year, you might be able to find what you are looking for, but you need to be there early in the semester.
There are three bookstores you should check out:
At College International they have a "bookstore". It's actually just a closet where they have lots of 1st and 2nd year books in stock, such as Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. Just take the red metro line to Keleti Palyudvar and walk North from there (5 minutes).
This is probably the bookstore with the widest selection of the three. Also, the lady that works there is very friendly and knows which books the students buy and like, so you can ask her for advice.

This bookstore usually buys a larger volume of the most popular books, such as Sobotta, Netter, Moore (all for Anatomy), and Chemistry , Physiology and Biochemistry books, among others, but in periods they have a very good selection of books for all years.
The bookstore is located right across the strees from the Klinikak metro stop (blue metro).
