There are three things a student needs to do in order to graduate from Semmelweis University:
1 - complete all 6 years, passing all the classes
2 - pass the written and oral state exam
3 - hand in and get a passing grade on the diploma work
What is the diploma work?
Most students don't even think about (or hear much about...) the diploma work until they start the 5th year. Then some teachers begin to suggest that they should do the diploma work in their department; "we offer these areas for your diploma work".
The diploma work is simply a "research paper"!
The student can write about virtually any topic, but it has to be available from one of the departments!
For example: You want to write your paper on Gram+ bacteria, then you should focus on the Department of Microbiology or any of the clinical departments that focus on the diseases you are interested in (e.g. if you want to look at the diseases caused by Gram+ bacteria in pregnancy, a logical place to go is the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology).
Contact the English Secretary (if you have the patience) or go directly to the department where you want to do your diploma work.
I will add more details later.
