My fifth year 2007/08 - Traumatology

The traumatology class (both lectures and practices) was held in the Department of Traumatology, close to the Keleti palyudvar.

This class had no topic list and it was very disappointing.
I expected us to practice casting and repositioning, but we never did that.
Every single practice except for one (where we walked around the ward just listening to the teacher) we sat in a small room with a tv and looked at pictures or listened to the teacher. It was uninspiring and if it wasn't for the secretary keeping extreme control of the attendance, I don't think anyone would show up for that class at all.
Unfortunate, because it is such a practical course for the general physician.

Although the class was very disappointing, the teachers were cool AND they encourage students to come outside of class to take part in the action!
The doctors told me that the department couldn't afford to let students use up lots of equipment to practice, but that they could come on weekends and help out during real traumas!

The room where we had our practices, looking at pictures and discussing methods.

The final exam
The final exam in the 5th year was written. We had the exam in the lecture hall of the NET building, the department projected the questions in PowerPoint-form.
Some questions had pictures (x-rays), some were simply a text question.
The exam was more difficult than expected and I would not have done so good if I didn't study old exam questions (see my notes for these: budapeststudent.com/notes)
