Unlike Anatomy in the first year, you may choose which department you want in Pathology (third year).
There are two departments and half the student will be at each of them. Signup on the Neptun System.
The 1st Department of Pathology is located by Ferenc Körut.
This was my department and my practice teacher was Professor Matolcsy (read more here).
This department has more slides in histopathology, but the exams are heavily weighted on the macroscopic findings (in autopsy) and the theoretical material, rather than the histopathology.
The 2nd Department of Pathology is located by Klinikak (building next to Anatomy).
Several of my friends signed up for this department and they have told me that they focus a lot more on histopathology than we did. Also, the histopathology is a large part of the final exam (unlike the 1st department, where the histopathology exam is conducted as a separate exam just before the final exam period).
The 2nd Department did however have a competition and it was possible to get excemption from parts of the final exam if one got a good result there (most people who took the competition did get excemption for histopathology).
In both departments you will be required to identify pathological findings in human cadavers and the amount of theoretical knowledge required is about the same at both departments.
