Keeping with tradition, the warmup band during the concert at ANSA Hungary's annual meeting was a student band.
This time Revelstone - a very talented group of students from Pécs - surprised all of us.

Revelstone is the name and you might as well adopt it to memory, because we are bound to hear more from them in the years to come. Lead by Jason Davidge (guitar/vocals) the group is as diverse as it is talented, with a Nowegian bass player, Israeli drummer and a Swedish muse on violin. Jason is Canadian and the North American alternative rock influence is easy to spot as one needs a closer look to distinguish Jason from the more famous Dave Matthews. From the bare feet on stage to the way he holds his guitar, Jason is nothing short of his musical collegue - especially not vocally.
With a mix of cover songs and their own material, Revelstone impressed the audience in Budapest - me included. It is fantastic to hear true musical talent, and Revelstone has plenty of it - and potential! Just look at the variety of instruments in this seven-man band:
Tal Harel (drums), Thomas Jensen (guitar), Joao Vinagre (saxophone), Linus Rauch (trumpet), Felicia Berkun (violin), Arne Thomas Slåttebræk (bass) and Jason Davidge. I can't wait to hear this band develop further and expanding their repertoire - the potential is certainly there and they should not be afraid to expand on the potential in this plethora of instruments.
From what we heard that night, there is no reason why Revelstone should not be in the recording studio soon.
Revelstone's own material that night:

Who are we?
