BudapestStudent.com - Semmelweis University

Semmelweis University

Getting accepted

You should go to the university website (links) and find the application material.
Here are some old exams that I have gathered from other students: oldexams
They are in pdf format and do not include the questions on Chemistry and Biology (hopefully I will find some of those later).
I just got some Biology and Chemistry sample tests, thanks to Taher!

Getting around and using the web system

New Neptun system!

We now have a new Neptun system: http://net.neptun.sote.hu
The following links are therefore old:

Check out the ISAS website for an excellent tutorial on the new Neptun System! http://www.isas.hu

Extracurricular stuff!

The medical student community in Budapest

Here is an overview:

  1. Semmelweis Medical University's official website for the English program: www.semmelweis-english-program.org
Doesn't have much beyond phone numbers, rules etc.
  2. The international students at Semmelweis University are represented through the International Student Association of Semmelweis (ISAS). If you are a student at Semmelweis University you need to register yourself asap: www.isas.hu
  3. You can read about this website under About Me
If you would like to gain access to the handbook, please send me a (polite) request.
  4. The Israeli students have their own organization and their website has a lot of helpful stuff. They also have a hugely popular forum (but in Hebrew only):
The Israeli Student Organization of Hungary: www.isoh.info
  5. The Norwegian students have an international organization for all Norwegians that study outside of Norway.
Their website also has a forum. Association of Norwegian Students Abroad: www.ansa.no/ungarn
  6. Medical Fever website - a website created by Shahram Shahsavari (6th year student from Iran). This appeared in 2007 and has a forum and download section.
You have to register in order to gain access to the various sections: www.medfever.com

Books for the medical program - my recommendations

My advice: Click on My Notes and look through the topic lists (the curriculum for the 1st year!) and then you can go to the bookstore and look through the books I recommend. See which one you like the best.
